How to Give an Agency Access to Your Google Ads Account
The secure way to give an agency access to Google Ads is to link their manager account (MCC) or add them as a user, never to share your login. That keeps your two-factor auth intact, shows exactly who has access, and lets you remove them in one click.
Step by step
- 1
Ask the agency for their Manager account (MCC) ID
It's a 10-digit number in their Google Ads manager account, formatted like 123-456-7890.
- 2
Open Access and security in Google Ads
Sign in to Google Ads, click the Admin icon (or Tools), then choose Access and security.
- 3
Send or accept the link request
On the Managers tab, accept the pending link request from the agency's MCC ID, or have them send one. You can also add an individual by email on the Users tab.
- 4
Choose the access level
Pick Standard for most agency work, or Admin only if they manage billing too. Confirm to grant access.
Choosing the right access level
Access levels: Admin (full control, incl. users and billing), Standard (create and edit campaigns), Read only, Email only, and Billing. Most agencies need Standard; reserve Admin for teams that also manage billing.
Doing this for every platform, on every client?
That's the chase AutoStack ends. One branded link requests access to Google Ads and the rest of your stack at the right permission level, tracked as state, with no password emails.

Do I have to share my Google Ads password with the agency?
No. You grant access at the account level through Access and security. No password is ever shared, and you can revoke access at any time.
What access level should I give my agency in Google Ads?
Standard access lets an agency create and manage campaigns. Use Admin only if they also need to manage users or billing. Read only is for reporting.
How do I remove an agency's access later?
In Access and security, find the agency on the Users or Managers tab and remove them. Access ends immediately.
